This is a sample showreel of the films I’ve been part of—directly or indirectly—since 2022, starting with DJ Tillu and Bheemla Nayak as my first two. There are some more which can’t be disclosed.
I also want to be transparent: I’ve lost close to 80% of my investment on a couple films. These days, outright deals are rare.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the types of deals:
Outright: We take the entire profit from our share of ticket sales.
MG Basis: Profits are split 50:50 between us and the producer/distributor.
Advance Deal: We pay a lump sum upfront. After negotiations, we lock in a percentage of the share. In this case, the producer bears the full risk as they're betting on their product.
So, make sure you understand the nature of each deal and the risks involved—especially your ability to handle potential losses.
Regarding strategies: it's simple—study the data of previous genre films in each state, understand the target audience, and focus on genres that are currently working well in North America.
